Apple Airport / Apple Airport Express Status: Compatible Recommended Usage: This router supports 1-3 desk phones. Comments: Since this router does not offer Quality of Service, it is recommended to be used with minimal amounts of phones.
Asus RT-N66U, RT-AC66U, RT-AC68U Status: Compatible Recommended Usage: These routers have been tested with 1-50 phones Comments: This router is recommended due to the availability of Quality of Service settings. Upgrade to the latest firmware (3.0.0.4.376 as of this writing). SIP ALGs must be disabled on this router. 1. Log into the router's web interface 2. Go to Advanced Settings / WAN on left side. 3. From the tabs across the top, choose NAT Pass through. 4. Change SIP pass through to "Disable." Hit apply. Reboot phones in order to update the NAT table.
DD-WRT Firmware based routers Status: Compatible Recommended Usage: Supports virtually unlimited devices Comments: The DD-WRT VOIP build works with relatively small configuration. Note that since this is an open source project, security may be affected.
Cisco Routers (most) Status: Compatible Recommended Usage: Cisco manfuctured after 2012 are known to support 1-50 phones Comments: Most Cisco routers seem to support Claricom's service very well. Please ensure that the model you are buying has Quality of Service / Bandwidth management settings.
Cisco RV180W Status: Compatible Recommended Usage: These routers have been tested with 1-50 phones Comments: A recommended device, that includes Gigabit ethernet, VPN and wireless capabilities.
Cisco Linksys RV082, RV016, RV042, RV042G Status: Compatible Recommended Usage: These routers support 1-50 phones Comments: These routers work well if properly configured. Please update to the latest firmware version ( v4.2.1.02 as of writing.) The MTU settings under 'Setup' -> 'Network' should be set to 1500 (Cable) or 1492 (DSL).
Cisco/Linksys WRVS4400N Status: Compatible Recommended Usage: This router supports 1-50 desk phones. Comments: Works well with minimal changes.
Cisco/Linksys E1200, E2500, E3500 Status: Compatible Recommended Usage: This router supports 1-6 desk phones. Comments: These routers work well a few phones. Consider the small business edition for larger deployments.
Cisco/Linksys WRT160N Status: Compatible Recommended Usage: This router supports 1-3 desk phones. Comments: Entry level/Home use router. Should not put more than 3 phones. Consider Cisco's business line for a larger deployment.
Cisco/Linksys WRT54G2 Status: Compatible Recommended Usage: This router supports 1-3 desk phones. Comments: Entry level/Home use router. Should not put more than 3 phones. Consider Cisco's business line for a larger deployment.
Siemens Speedstream Status: Compatible Recommended Usage: This router supports 1-3 desk phones. Comments: Basic router, should not be used for large deployments. Quality of Service cannot be setup on this router. Consider using it in bridge mode.

D-Link DIR-615, HW Revision B only Status: Changes required Recommended Usage: These routers have been tested with 1-4 phones Comments: Disable SIP ALG. Please upgrade to latest firmware (2.2.4 as of writing.) 1. Click on Firewall settings 2. Under Application Level Gateway (ALG) Configuration 3. Uncheck the option.
D-Link DIR-625 Status: Changes required Recommended Usage: These routers have been tested with 1-4 phones Comments: Disable SIP ALG from the web interface. Using more than 4 phones, this router causes the rest of the phones to lose registration. We recommend using this router in very small deployments.
D-Link EBR-2310, HW Revision B Status: Changes required Recommended Usage: These routers have been tested with 1-50 phones Comments: Disable SIP ALG. Please upgrade to latest firmware (2.2.4 as of writing.) 1. Click on Firewall settings 2. Under Application Level Gateway (ALG) Configuration 3. Uncheck the option.
Fortigate/Fortinet Status: Changes required Recommended Usage: Disable SIP ALG Comments: Open the CLI and run the following commands: config system settings set sip-helper disable set sip-nat-trace disable
Reboot the device
In the CLI type the following: Config system session-helper show (now look for SIP, mostly it will be "12") delete 12 Don't use any protection profiles on the firewall of the SIP rules.
Juniper - Netscreen Status: Changes required Recommended Usage: This router supports 1-50 desk phones. Comments: Disable SIP ALG on the Netscreen router. Click on Configuration page, then choose Advanced. Choose ALG, and uncheck the SIP check box.
Motorola Surfboard Status: Changes required Recommended Usage: This router supports 1-6 desk phones. Comments: Ensure that the firmware is currently up to date (v3.3 as of writing.) Disable SIP ALGs.
Netgear FVG318 Status: Changes required Recommended Usage: This router supports 1-10 desk phones. Comments: Ensure that the latest firmware is updated to the latest release. Click on Rules on the left hand side. Disable SIP ALGs by checking the box.
Netopia Status: Changes required Recommended Usage: This router supports 1-10 desk phones. Comments: Disable SIP Passthrough by using the web interface. If the web interface does not have this option, you must manually telnet into the router. This procedure is advanced and should be carefully planned, as it may brick the router. Professional supervision may be required. telnet into router, and type each of the following commands configure set ip sip-passthrough off save exit Restart
On the Netopia 4622xlt Telnet into the device Use the arrow keys to highlight 'quick menu' and press "ctrl-n" That brings you to the console. type: ip nat alg sip enable no save exit restart
SMC 3100 Status: Not compatible unless bridged Recommended Usage: If bridged, it becomes a modem Comments: This router is not compatible with voip. This router should be put in bridge mode, and a compatible router should be used.
Sonic Wall Status: Compatible Recommended Usage: These routers can support virtually unlimited phones if configured by Sonic Wall technicians. Comments: Please see the adjustments below: Firmware v5.8.12 or lower Disable SIP ALG

Tomato Firmware Routers Status: Changes required. Recommended Usage: These routers can support virtually unlimited phones if configured by Sonic Wall technicians. Comments: If only one phone can register at a time, it means that there is a bug into the firmware. It can be resolved using the following steps. 1. Click on Router settings 2. Click on Advanced 3. Click on Conntrack/Netfilter 4. Enable SIP option for Tracking/NAT helpers.
Zxyel Status: Changes required. Recommended Usage: This router can be bridged for optimal performance. Comments: It is recommended that this router be put into bridge mode. You may also disable SIP ALGs: 1. Telnet into router2. Choose System maintenance (24)3. Choose Command Interpreter mode (8)4. Type: ip nat service sip active 05. Reboot
These devices have been thoroughly tested and have been found not to work with our voip service. Please note that many manufacturers constantly release firmware updates that could fix the underlying voice issues. If that's the case, we will try to keep this list updated.

Hitron CGN3 (Rogers Advanced WiFi Modem) Status: Incompatible Recommended Usage: Replace device or put in bridge mode Comments: This router lacks the option to disable SIP ALGs. Users may put this device into bridge mode, using it alongside a compatible router. Rogers recommends placing phones in DMZ mode or using Port Forwarding. This will severely compromise the security of the phones. We highly recommend not following this path. There have been reports of Rogers technicians been able to disable SIP ALGs remotely.
Linksys WRT54G, WRT54GX, WRT54GL, WRT54GS Status: Incompatible Recommended Usage: Replace device or install 3rd party firmware Comments: Some of these routers support the DD-WRT VOIP firmware. We recommend either replacing the device or using the DD-WRT firmware. Contact support for help.
