1. Choppy Voice Audio

Choppy audio refers to audio that cuts in and out, making it difficult to understand the speaker. This can be due to various reasons:

Causes & Solutions:

a. Network Congestion:

Symptom: Other network activities, like file downloads, streaming, or large data transfers, might cause the voice to chop.

Solution: Prioritize voice traffic using Quality of Service (QoS) settings on your router or network switch.

b. Insufficient Bandwidth:

Symptom: Regularly experiencing choppy voice during peak business hours.

Solution: Upgrade your internet package or consider a dedicated line for voice traffic.

c. Wireless Interference:

Symptom: The issue occurs predominantly when using wireless phones or headsets.

Solution: Change the Wi-Fi channel on your router or switch to a wired connection.

2. One-Way Audio

One-way audio is when one party can hear the other, but the other party cannot hear in return.

Causes & Solutions:

a. NAT (Network Address Translation) Issues:

Symptom: Frequently occurs when phones are behind routers.

Solution: Disable SIP ALG if your router supports it. (Guide )

b. Firewall Restrictions:

Symptom: Calls from specific numbers or services result in one-way audio.

Solution: Adjust firewall settings to allow voice traffic.

c. Muted Microphone:

Symptom: Simple but often overlooked - one party has their microphone muted.

Solution: Check the mute button on the phone, software, or headset.

d. Hardware Issues:

Symptom: One-way audio persists even after changing handsets or headphones.

Solution: Check for malfunctioning equipment, like cables, curly cords, phones, or headsets. Replace if necessary.

3. Contact support

If the issues persist after troubleshooting, please get in touch with our support team at support@vantact.com.

Duration of the call.

Phone numbers of both the calling and receiving parties.

Describe the exact problem: e.g., choppy audio, dropped calls, echoing, one-way audio, static, or any other voice quality issues.

Was the issue persistent throughout the call or intermittent?

Has this issue occurred more than once?

If recurring, how often does it happen?
