How to Record an Auto-Attendant / IVR

Recording an Auto-Attendant (also known as IVR) requires a phone that is registered on your telephone system. You can use any registered phone to perform this task.

  1. Dial the Auto-Attendant Extension:

    • If you know the extension of the Auto-Attendant, dial *98 followed by the extension number (e.g., *98123# where 123 is the Auto-Attendant extension).
  2. Follow System Prompts:

    • The system will guide you through the process. Wait for the system prompt to indicate when to start recording.
  3. Start Recording:

    • Speak clearly into the handset to record your Auto-Attendant message. Ensure there is no background noise as it may be recorded.
  4. Finish Recording:

    • To end the recording, press the X key on your phone's keypad.
  5. Final Steps:

    • Do not hang up abruptly by putting down the handset, as this can record unwanted background noise.

If you do not know the extension of the Auto-Attendant, please contact support for assistance. They will provide you with the necessary extension to proceed with the recording.

By following these steps, you can successfully record and configure your Auto-Attendant to manage incoming calls effectively.
