How to Perform Transfers on Grandstream Phones

Learn how to transfer calls using Grandstream phones, including Attended (Warm) Transfers, Blind Transfers, and transferring to External Numbers and Voicemail.




Attended (Warm) Transfer

An Attended (Warm) Transfer allows you to speak to the recipient before transferring the call, while the caller is placed on hold.

To perform an attended transfer on a Grandstream phone:

  1. Press the "Transfer" button while you are on a call. This will place the caller on hold.

  2. Dial the extension or external number to which you want to transfer the call.

  3. Wait for the recipient to answer, and consult with them.

  4. Once ready, press Transfer again to complete the process.

  • If the recipient is not available, you can return to the caller by pressing the Resume key or the Cancel key to abort the transfer.

Blind Transfer

A Blind Transfer sends the caller directly to the recipient without consultation.

To perform a blind transfer on a Grandstream phone:

  1. While on a call, press the Transfer button.

  2. Press the Blind soft key (this may be labeled differently depending on your phone model, but it's usually next to the Transfer button).

  3. Enter the extension or external number to which you want to transfer the call.

  4. Press Transfer to send the call immediately.

Transfers to External Numbers

You can also transfer calls to an external number, such as a mobile phone.

  1. Follow the steps for an Attended or Blind Transfer as described above.

  2. Instead of dialing an internal extension, enter the external 10-digit phone number.

Voicemail Transfer

To transfer a caller directly to another user's voicemail:

  1. While on the call, press the Transfer button to place the caller on hold.

  2. Dial "8" followed by the extension number of the person whose voicemail you wish to transfer the call to.

  3. Press the Transfer button again to complete the transfer.

    • Example: To transfer a call to the voicemail of extension 101, you would dial 8101 and press Transfer.
