Checking Power Supply
Verify Power Connection:
- Ensure that the power supply is correctly plugged into both the power outlet and the phone.
- Check that the power adapter is securely connected to the phone's power input.
Inspect Power Supply:
- Check the power adapter for any signs of damage or wear.
- If available, test the power adapter with another device to ensure it is functioning correctly.
Replace Power Supply:
- If the power supply appears faulty or is not providing power, consider replacing it.
- Ensure that the replacement power supply meets the specifications: 5V DC, 1000mA (1A). You can order a new one directly from your provider or purchase a compatible one.
Power over Ethernet (PoE)
If your Snom phone is powered via PoE:
Verify Ethernet Connection:
- Ensure that the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the phone and the PoE switch or injector.
- Check that the PoE switch or injector is powered on and functioning correctly.
Check Network Configuration:
- Ensure that the network port providing PoE is configured correctly on your network switch or injector.
Additional Troubleshooting Steps
- Reboot the Phone: Sometimes a simple reboot can resolve power-related issues. Disconnect the power for a few seconds and then reconnect it.
- Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your Snom phone has the latest firmware installed, as updates can sometimes resolve power management issues.
If these steps do not resolve the issue and your Snom phone still does not power on, you may need to contact technical support for further assistance or consider replacing the phone if it's out of warranty.
