Cell Phone Integration with Your PBX

Integrating your cell phone with your PBX system ensures that you can stay connected and reachable regardless of your location. This guide explains how to set up and configure cell phone integration, highlighting its advantages and functionalities.

Cell Phone Setup

Cell phone integration allows you to receive calls at multiple locations and on various devices. Unlike merely registering two phones to the same extension, this setup ensures continuous connectivity, even during power outages or system disconnections.

Key Benefits:

  • Continuous connectivity during power failures or disconnections.
  • Reachable at multiple phone numbers and locations.
  • Ability to manage calls directly from your cell phone with special menu options.

Configuration Steps

1. Entering Your Cell Phone Number:

  • Any phone number can be used (e.g., 9781234567 without spaces or hyphens).

2. Special Menu Options:

  • Offers additional menu options when answering a call from your cell phone.

3. Including Cell Phone in Extension Calls:

  • Both your extension and cell phone will ring simultaneously.
  • You can set a delay for the cell phone to ring (1 to 30 seconds) after the extension starts ringing.

4. Hunt Group and Agent Group Integration:

  • Include your cell phone in calls made to a hunt group or agent group.

5. Web Callback Feature:

  • Useful for click-to-dial actions from the address book, missed calls, and call log pages.
  • The system will call both your extension and cell phone before dialing the contact.

6. Specifying Call Times:

  • Set specific times when the system should call your cell phone to avoid interruptions during off-hours.
  • Ensure your time zone is correctly set to reflect your local time.

Options for Call Timing:

  • No Specific Time Excluded:

    • Your cell phone will ring whenever your extension rings, regardless of the time.
  • Explicitly Specify Available Times:

    • Set a daily schedule using either the 24-hour format (e.g., 21:00 for 9:00 PM) or the AM/PM format (e.g., 9:00P for 9:00 PM).
    • Specify multiple time segments (e.g., 9:00-12:00 13:00-17:00).
    • Use the holiday field to exclude specific days (e.g., 11/24 for November 24).

By following these steps, you can effectively integrate your cell phone with your PBX system, ensuring you are always reachable and never miss an important call. For further assistance, please contact our support team at support@vantact.com.
