Call Park (*85) and Call Park Retrieve (*86)

Call Park allows you to temporarily place a call on hold in a designated park orbit so that another user can retrieve it later. The system administrator must configure specific park orbits (e.g., 800, 801, 802, and 803) before these star codes can be used.

How to Park a Call:

  1. Put the Call on Hold:
    • Place the caller on hold (music will play in the background).
  2. Park the Call:
    • Dial *85, followed by the park orbit number.
    • Press the confirm button on your telephone keypad.
  3. Notify the Recipient:
    • Page or inform the intended recipient of the parked call, specifying the park orbit number. For example, “Diane, you have a call on extension 509” (where 509 is the park orbit).

How to Retrieve a Parked Call:

  1. Dial the Retrieve Code:
    • Dial *86, followed by the park orbit number (e.g., 509).
  2. Retrieve the Call:
    • The call will be connected to your extension.

Scenario Example: A call comes in for Diane, but you don't know her location. You put the customer on hold, dial *85 followed by the park orbit number (e.g., 509), and press the confirm button. You then page Diane, “Diane, you have a call on extension 509.” Diane then dials *86 followed by 509 to retrieve the call.

Additional Notes:

  • An announcement will indicate that the call has been parked.
  • If the call is not picked up within a specified time (default is 1 minute), the system will call you back as a reminder of the waiting call.
  • To create a toggle-like effect for Call Park and Call Park Retrieve for use with buttons, use matching star codes (e.g., *85/*85 or *86/*86) on the star codes page at the domain level.

Using these procedures, you can effectively manage and retrieve parked calls. For further assistance or any questions, please contact our support team.
