How to set up MyVoiceHub Connect for Chrome

MyVoiceHub Connect for Chrome

Make and receive calls directly from your Chrome browser

MyVoiceHub Connect is a softphone extension for Google Chrome. It lets you place calls from a dialpad in your browser, redial from your call history, and call phone number links on web pages, using your computer’s microphone and speakers.

Before you start:

  • You will need your PBX server, extension number, and password. These are provided by your administrator.
  • You will need a microphone and speakers or a headset connected to your computer.

Installing the extension

  1. Open the Chrome Web Store:
  2. Search for MyVoiceHub Connect:
    • Type MyVoiceHub Connect and press Enter
    • Click the MyVoiceHub Connect result

  3. Add the extension to Chrome:
    • Click Add to Chrome

  4. Confirm the installation:
    • Click Add extension in the pop-up

Setting up the extension

  1. Open the extension settings:
    • Click the MyVoiceHub Connect icon (green phone) at the top right of Chrome
    • If you don’t see it, click the puzzle-piece icon to find it in your extensions list
    • The status will show Not configured. Click Settings (or the gear icon)

  2. Enter your account details:
    • Server: your phone system’s hostname (e.g. pbx.example.com)
    • Username / extension: your extension number (e.g. 101)
    • Password: your extension password

  3. Allow microphone access:
    • Under Audio Devices, click Allow microphone
    • In the pop-up, check that your microphone is selected, then click Allow while visiting the site

  4. Select your audio devices:
    • Under Microphone and Speaker, select the devices you want to use (e.g. your headset)
  5. Choose your behaviour settings:
    • Call immediately when a tel: link is clicked: check this to have phone number links on web pages dial right away
    • Register on browser start: keep this checked so the extension connects automatically whenever Chrome opens and you can receive calls
  6. Save and connect:
    • Click Save, then click Connect
    • The status will change to Registered

Making a call

  1. Open the dialpad:
    • Click the MyVoiceHub Connect icon
    • The top of the window will show Registered and your extension number

  2. Place the call:
    • On the Dial tab, enter a number and click the green call button
    • To redial a recent call, click the History tab
    • You can also click any phone number link on a web page to call it if "Call immediately when a tel: link is clicked" is turned on
    • If you haven’t granted microphone access yet, you’ll be asked to allow it when you place your first call
    • Once allowed, a new tab will confirm Microphone access granted
    • Click Close this tab to return to your call

  3. During a call:
    • The window shows In Call, the number, and the call timer
    • Mute: mutes your microphone
    • Hold: places the caller on hold
    • Transfer: transfers the call
    • Click the red button to hang up

    • Keypad: opens the dialpad during a call, for example to enter options in a phone menu

Troubleshooting

  • Status still shows Not configured: check the Server, Username / extension and Password, then click Save and Connect.
  • No audio or the other person can’t hear you: click Allow microphone in Settings, choose Allow while visiting the site, and check the selected Microphone and Speaker.
  • Not receiving calls: make sure Register on browser start is checked and Chrome is open.
  • Clicking a number on a web page doesn’t call: only numbers set up as phone links work. Plain text numbers need to be dialed with the dialpad.
